Focus areas

TILLT has a vision of a sustainable society where art contributes to human growth. We initiate development projects where art and culture meets the challenges in different, non-artistic societal arenas. We approach societal questions through our focus areas – the fields in society where we would like to see contributions from artists and an artistic approach.

Integration and inclusion

WHY?
The intercultural approach means, for instance, challenging homogeneity as the norm and ideals. A workplace where the majority always has interpretative precedents will lose the profit of allowing it to be "different" and heterogeneous. In the daily work, but also in recruitment.

WHAT DOES TILLT DO?
At the moment TILLT manages the international project Borderline Offensive where 12 international partners work with integration, humour and art.
Previously TILLT has led the project Sjuhärad Intercultural Meetings and the international collaboration project FORA.
Intercultural approach and inclusion was also the main themes in a short education held by TILLT during the fall of 2018.

Climate development

WHY?
Climate change is a most urgent question and affects several areas. TILLT has chosen to work with young people and the ocean, and to explore climate adaptation for individuals as well as organizations.

WHAT DOES TILLT DO?
TILLT is presently a part of the international projcet Cultural Adaptations, where we work together with artists and cultural institutions about climate adaptations. Previously, we have worked in the environmental projects Art/Mosphere och Norðr arte | mosphaera.

Gender equality

WHY?
Gender equality has gained a lot of attention lately, which is a good thing.  More and more companies and workplaces see a need raise the issue. Many of them have taken a look at their policies and opened up for discussions about acceptable behaviour and ways of communicating in the workplace.

WHAT DOES TILLT DO?
In order to work with gender equality in a meaningful way and to create change, one will need more than a policy on paper. As in each of our artist driven projects, we aim to engage and reach relationships, values, feelings and norms. We work with individuals to challenge attitudes and create openness. During several years, we have worked with the focus area together with Volvo Cars.

Elder care development

WHY?
In order to live up to the national guidelines and to create the elder care of the future the care facilities of today needs to protect and respect the right to provacy for individuals,  bodily integrity self determination,  participation and individual care. What does this mean for the staff, regarding the behaviour and handling of the residents?
To be able to work with a salutogenic approach there are three important key words: comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness.

WHAT DOES TILLT DO?
TILLT offers a joyful way of wokring, allowing time for reflection. By using creative methods TILLT supports the employees, through an artist driven process instead of a regular course.
We have worked with different themes in elder care, such as dignity guarantees, vocational pride, job satisfaction, group dynamics and salutogenic approach in handling and behaviour.
TILLT has led over fifteen projects within this focus area, both short term and long term. Examples of long term projects are Tre Stiftelser, Horizon, The Artist Meeting and Örgryte-Härlanda.
